Thanks for this Video.
Craig Ginsberg (10 months ago)
ugh were on the bitmain tread mill now :( do we have to buy that asic now?
ChilledCat (10 months ago)
BTCZ which is one of my fave coins to mine is ASIC resistant https://youtu.be/ILOzg-9X7Jc?t=61
Harry Chu (10 months ago)
That unit would earn less than $100/mo. at today's eth difficulty. It would take 2 to 3 months to earn 1 ether. No one should be rushing to pick this up.
osirus twits (10 months ago)
still cheaper than building a rig is the point
Flaviu Ciohodaru (10 months ago)
Vitalik clearly said that if a asic miner will be created for ethereum he will do the best he can to change the mining algorithm so fuck bitmain with their shit
Cloud9551 (10 months ago)
The hash power sucks. By the time Nvidia releases new cards in summer, this thing will have it's arse handed to it.
Mark Aldridge (10 months ago)
My rig 10x 1070s @ 1210w = 310 hash rate = 0.256 h/w. Bitmain E3 = 0.225 h/w...
BigPump Crypto (10 months ago)
LEE even said it was 1/3 of the price to build the same rig to buy an E3 so for 3 times the price or equal to the rig you could add another 360MH/s sorry bud that dwarfs your rig. For almost the same price as you would pay now you could have gotten almost 5 E3s do you see where this is going now that is 900MH/s Sit back as the responder said do the "math is simple." No one cares what you did before it is what would people do going forward.
osirus twits (10 months ago)
Again please stay in the present. ASIC are here now it is more cost efficient at this time to go with a E3 compare apples to apples $800 for 180MH/s you couldn't beat that math is simple
Mark Aldridge (10 months ago)
osirus twits my hash rate is 72% greater that the e3. Performance is measured in h/w not just watts. It means my rig will be more future proof as network hash work increases and electricity goes up. See my previous response. As things stand I've covered costs and made money. If I decided not to build a rig beginning of last year and wait for an eth asic miner to be invented I wouldn't have made money or lost it. Looking to the future I can't buy an e3 anyway as they have sold out on bitmain but if I was starting from scratch and they were available I would buy 10 of them..
osirus twits (10 months ago)
Dude you can't beat $800 if you are going to do a comparison do the full comparison not a half job Also the power is 33% less than your GPU rig. based on what you have posted all things equal there is no comparison you buy the ASIC
Mark Aldridge (10 months ago)
IMineBlocks that is also subjective to when you built your rig in terms of cost and how much profit /loss you have made so far. If I purchased now I would not be happy and the 1070s have been out a while.. I'm sure they will produce a better version in the future nipping mine and making their E3 obsolete. You have to make the financial decision to buy a rig at the right time, ie when markets are low to mine for potential profits if you see it going up. Everything you mine now to gain coins could be worth 10x in a couple of years. To me mining isnt for instant gratification and as long as I earn more than the electricity bill I don't mind. When I purchased my rig I gave it a 2 year life span with the goal of covering cost and electricity then after that see what I have. Regarding build time, like you had frustrations setting up (currently installing replacement psu's after they've blown but fortunately still under warranty) but for me it's a hobby and I enjoy problem solving. Also I'd rather a part from my rig fail as I have built it than with an asic I wouldn't know where to start! Keep up your good work.
AcidRaZor (10 months ago)
Eth is changing to a hybrid between proof of stake and proof of work, and dropping the block reward from 3 to 0.2 as they move towards proof of stake. Thats already in the works. Other coins also said they will adjust (and some already have) to make asic mining impossible. This is most probably why the price for that miner is so cheap
Dkoy Koala (10 months ago)
the fork will take time wont it? they cant just move the whole project in less than a week like that, it would burn to many partners in your gambler networks wont it? hahaha

Who would of thought.
skatekai (10 months ago)
800 bucks get me 4x r9 290(x)'s. with OC and downvolting i can reach 120 mh/s on 800w. And the resellability of gpus would make it have a shorter roi than this shit
Mac Halas (10 months ago)
How about dual mining: GPU and HDD together...
Samson King (10 months ago)
fu4ien (10 months ago)
In all honesty, I regret buying 1070ti's for 700 usd
osirus twits (10 months ago)
ouch is all I can say
IMineBlocks (10 months ago)
Yes, but you can still build yourself a sweet gaming rig.
Kevin Wilson (10 months ago)
This doesn't look any good it will take a year almost to pay for itself you barely would get 5 eth's by years end.
osirus twits (10 months ago)
still better than GPUs you would take 3 years to pay that off by your math
2000jago (10 months ago)
Same performance as a GPU miner, but much cheaper - ok, fair enough, but ZERO resale value while a GPU rig will always have at least some resale value.
osirus twits (10 months ago)
but would you care to resell it if you got it for 25%t hat of a gpu miner saved on power and get the same output performance? You just run it till it dies

Lmao fuck miners 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yes, I'm sorry that the audio is not the best.
Petar Stefanov (10 months ago)
bad deal if you ask me....By July it will be mining less than the 180 MH it is claiming....800 W is too much and the noise.....lots of negatives.....I will skip that one...
Wasp0 (10 months ago)
Guys can someone explain to this here newb, what 'Forking' is? and how will that fork effect us hobbyist GPU miners who are getting a nice but small profit from ETH mining? Thanks
Josh B (10 months ago)
People are saying this will earn $3-4/day... (source: https://antminere3.com ) this is completely worthless for $800, what a Joke... Nobody will even buy the ASICS, they aren't enticing at all and I think that they won't even need to fork, who wants to make $3/day?! not worth it, even for a second...
osirus twits (10 months ago)
still cheaper than building a new rig. You miss the point

icantfindit008 (10 months ago)
ive heard that monero will asic-fork.. will that make monero minable in the near future?  same goes for sia coin?
wilkas (10 months ago)
You have forgotten that when lots of hashing power switches to other coin, its difficulty rises and profitability drops. So if all GPU's switch from all Ethash coins to other algos, their profit will be few cents if any at all.

Cryptothai channel is stealing your vids and other vids. I watched your Burstcoin 100TB mining video and wanted to see more...i clicked on the profile and it was that cryptothai guy who has all kinds of spam videos. I reported that channel btw. Anyway, I bought an Antminer years ago and it kept getting difficult to mine once the market got saturated. Do you think these will sell like fire and screw it up for the hobbyists like you and I ?

osirus twits (10 months ago)
Vitalek doesn't care to fork lol you missed the memo?
Nelly Nelson (10 months ago)
What I dont get is these coins, as far as I am aware, cant function without miners. Yet they dont adjust the difficulty. For instance, the last time ZCash was at this value its difficulty was about 30K today with teh same price its in teh millions so the miners cant make a proffit. If they need miners (I am assumuing they do) then why dont they get their heads out their ass and change the difficulty? If they dont need miners, then why bother at all
Nelly Nelson (10 months ago)
So they have developed a system which product has no use other than theoretical 😂, let's say hospital pacient record transfer, or real use xfer is own coin. This needs super computer power, miners. But it doesn't need to much power. However when you try and use this power IRL you could be waiting days, lack of immediate power/exchange rate swing. Which would suggest they need more miners to support their infrastructure. But like shooting yourself in the foot
IMineBlocks (10 months ago)
Very well explained.
Soft Womble (10 months ago)
To a degree it is a flaw in the system. They typically don’t need the processing power of so many miners, but want decentralisation. They typically have a set target of finding 1 block per x minutes (where x is a constant), as more miners join in difficulty increases to maintain the target and the reward remains the same but is shared amongst more miners. In the end it becomes a game of the coin price vs how efficient your mining setup is, rather than the most efficient way to process the coins transactions.
Nelly Nelson (10 months ago)
If they dont do something soon, there wont be ny miners making any form of hash power other than Bitmain Asics.
IMineBlocks (10 months ago)
The difficulty changes based on the hash power mining. The price changes at the whim of the people. They should move together but it doesn't work quite like that in reality.
MrSolvaring (10 months ago)
This thing will be useless by the time it gets out.
wearediffrent (10 months ago)
only 180mhs ? lol shit miner
igal Zevulun (10 months ago)
you right, but but when got the asic then this will make much lower mh/s and dont forget tell me how the noise if set in house it..
Yolo Gaming (10 months ago)
Gudluvk ur gpu vs 3 times difficult or maybe more increase
Roy Yeoh (10 months ago)
Lol yeah
Yolo Gaming (10 months ago)
wearediffrent 180mhs in 800 usd? Lol dude tell me how much MH u can get with 800 usd tell me even rx vega or 2x rx 580 = 800usd reach max 44-66 mh, three time slowly with same budget
BeerLabelBuilder (10 months ago)
Only ppl making money here are Bitmam, they made Profit of $4 Billion Last Year. Ethereum should fork and brick these things, crypto should be decentralized, ASIC miners do the reverse and centralize mining to these things...!
Yolo Gaming (10 months ago)
BeerLabelBuilder dont be joke man, stop dreaming, before scrypt and sha 256 also like this and no body care about changing algo or doing hard fork because thats is totally useless

osirus twits (10 months ago)
no one cares it is going proof of stake get it good. We moved on
Rusty Debier (10 months ago)
They will fork, ETH has done fork for things smaller than this.
osirus twits (10 months ago)
The miner is not more powerful than what is out their it is just more efficient for ETH they did it right instead of gutting like they did with other miners. The coin is going proof of stake if anything this moves it faster the future was not for miners anyway
Yolo Gaming (10 months ago)
Eofl they r even not really care, asic and gpu whata the diffrent dude? Lol they problem is mineablebor not mineable
osirus twits (10 months ago)
they are going proof of stake they never really cared about staying mineable
ChilledCat (10 months ago)
Thanks for sharing what you know about these new ASICS. I enjoy GPU mining so I hope these don't change things too much.
MrCuCh0 (10 months ago)
luthfan yoga medisano Yes I think the same as you, difficult will go higher So if you only have 6 gpus you will need another 6 GPU to still get better profit or either just get one of this miner or just switch to another coin
Yolo Gaming (10 months ago)
Crypto Jim 3 times more faster than 2 price of rx 580 i think surely change the difficult 3 times from now and change the peofit 3 more time slowly
kestasn (10 months ago)

I would bet those machines have been covert mining for months just like Monero.
IMineBlocks (10 months ago)
I would think so.
VoskCoin (10 months ago)
Great work Lee! Personally I think crypto and mining especially have dark times ahead if they don’t fork the monopoly that is Bitmain
osirus twits (10 months ago)
Robert Joyce not for the price at the time of the video. Vitalek doesn't care to fork ETH goes proof of stake it isn't XMR it is a smart contract platform
Robert Joyce (10 months ago)
all that remains now is for the ether developers to do a form lime monero did to make it asic resistant
Robert Joyce (10 months ago)
180Mh is pretty crappy.
Rusty Debier (10 months ago)
Bitmain already has a faster miner the F3, sooo they are selling you their old junk. Honestly we NEED to fork and kill off these machines before they take over the network.
osirus twits (10 months ago)
The miner is not more powerful than what is out their it is just more efficient for ETH they did it right instead of gutting like they did with other miners. The coin is going proof of stake if anything this moves it faster the future was not for miners anyway

osirus twits (10 months ago)
but would you care to resell it if you got it for 25%t hat of a gpu miner saved on power and get the same output performance? You just run it till it dies
Cryptocoins4free (10 months ago)
I don't wanna resell because i don't buy this shit asic. Hope they fork it off!!!!
Roy Yeoh (10 months ago)
Why wanna resell where as our target are for mining. U crap fuck
Yolo Gaming (10 months ago)
Asic is just for mining farm dude and mostly mining farm usibg asic and dobt care about resell value cause in 1 year they could make 3 times roi if have a cheap electricity bill in mountain
Dagobert Duck (10 months ago)
Cryptocoins4free And they are not flexible on forks...
SenselessScott (10 months ago)
I doubt it is an ASIC in the true definition of ASIC. I suspect it is a cleverly designed system with GPUs and firmware for just ETASH. I'm no fan of Bitmain, but objectively this device is a good value at face value - and just face value. No versatility of course, and no after market, but you'd be hard pressed to build such an efficient rig at that hash power for that price.
Rusty Debier (10 months ago)
No it is an ASIC just one with a bunch of cheap memory chips. The cost of the unit would be much MUCH higher if they had to buy mini gpus and stuff them inside the box. So going this route they can produce the machine at very low costs.
Muhammad Hanif (10 months ago)
judging from the form factor and power consumption, it is a GPU inside an ASIC case.
IMineBlocks (10 months ago)
Yes I agree that it will be quite different from the other Asic designs, some more details should come soon.
Xeno Altrax (10 months ago)
Delivery by July, by then nvidia will be announcing the 11-series gpus with gddr6 at 2x bandwidth of gddr5. With gddr6 we might be getting a gtx1160 that can hash at 40 MH/s. This asic miner will help to bring gpu prices down so the 11-series can launch at more acceptable prices compared to what they are now.
Xeno Altrax (10 months ago)
No, I'm not talking about the wcctech april fools day article. I'm talking about the news reported by gamers nexus at GTC when they spoke with hynix.
